July 30 – How to get to Jecheon
I have left details in the ‘location page’ about how to get to Jecheon from Cheongnyangni Station Line 1 in East Seoul. I was completely surprised about this ride as I usually take the express bus from Kangnam. Although the bus ride is also relaxing and beautiful the train ride manage to weave through incredible rural scenes and stunning back drops. I had a relaxing time in beautiful seats and wide windows. I do recomend you travel to Jecheon by train. If you are going between the two events I am marketing – the Bio Expo and the JIMFF, I am told that information counters will be set up at the Jecheon Station and the Jecheon Bus Terminal to give you details of where to go once you arrive.

Going down to Jecheon today!! I will be meeting with people down there just so I can ask them more about events in the area but more importantly issues like accommodation and transport – the things that will make it easy for us to stay down there and see the sights. The next day I will be sightseeing, not to enjoy myself but to find out for you the must sees and how to get there. Wish me luck!
I’m going down to Jecheon this week. I hope to do a bit more exploring so I can put a bit more meat on this page!
The Jecheon International Film & Music Festival has been released.
Please check out my other blog for details of the exciting line up.

Hi there my name is David Oxenbridge and I am the guy who has been put in charge of telling all you English speakers in Korea about Jecheon, its rich cultural surrounds and the many and varied events it hosts. I live in Seoul but travel there frequently as it is only 2 hours away by bus from the Kangnam Express Bus Terminal. My job is to promote the area and the events so I would really feedback from you as to how to do this. I have quite a job given there are a huge amount of English speakers in Korea now. I can’t be everywhere at once and have no idea of all the different groups and networks that are out there and how to access them. I think its important to let foreigners know what is going on in Jecheon and the central Chungcheongbukdo region so please let me know if you have any ideas.
Thank you,
David Oxenbridge
I’ve been to Jecheon many times! My father grew up there. Can’t say I love it but it’s easy to relax there.
Exactly!!! Thats how I feel, good description. But, there is a hell of a lot to see when you get out and about. Thanks for the comment.
